R.e Ruth Sheppard’s blog about smoking.

She raised the point that smoking kills 120,000 deaths a year and many more illnesses related to this habit. The fact that it is still able to be easily accessed in such places as super markets and petrol stations seems ludicrous.
Granted the government have tried to reduce the numbers of smoking by different mediums such as advertising, and also legislation such as lifting the age to smoke as well as not being able to smoke indoors. The smoking indoors is a very good legislation as smoking is very much known as a social habit so this will eliminate this. However, shouldn’t the government also concentrate on making cigarettes less accessible?
