Make me plastic!

We all feel like we want a nip-tuck here and a boob job there, but with this being just purely for vanity should the NHS have to pay to correct it when it all goes bad?
The cost for most of plastic surgery is usually from approximately £3,000 to £5,000 in England to date, pretty much determined for your requests. This is quite a substantial number, especially in this current economic climate and so for this reason some of us Briton have it done abroad. However, if you go to Belgium prices range from £2,870 to £3,800. This is quite a big saving!
The point that people don’t realise is that different countries have different standards and these may not be as good as the ones back in England. This is when things go bad, very bad and the NHS has to step in.
In 2007, Surgeons saw 208 patients that had post-op problems resulting from plastic surgery being carried out in a foreign country. A quarter of these patients need to have their problem corrected urgently. Yet after this some still went back for more!
Obviously, it should be pointed out that not all foreign plastic surgery clinics are not good and there are a great many respectable establishments out there. You’ve just gotta hope you’ve found one of them!
Do you think it’s wrong that the NHS have to bail out people who care more about their image then their health or do you believe that everywhere has risks and those people are just unlucky? For more on plastic surgery prices In the UK visit:
